Ohio is a great place to do business according to its Secretary of State who this month announced more than 82,000 entities filed to do business in the Midwestern state. The number of new businesses is fantastic for the state – if your business is one of them, perhaps we’ll soon be assisting you with your Ohio business insurance.

According a news report from the Secretary of State, Jon Husted, there were 82,601 new entities in 2011, compared to 80,081 the previous year. He said the rise was encouraging and that Ohio was moving in the right direction in terms of developing favorable conditions for businesses.

Although the Secretary of State acknowledged the statistics derived from filing forms with the department were not an accurate indicator of the job market, they are a good method for gauging economic activity in the State. He hoped the rise in figures would add to discussions about how to improve business environments for both new and continuing businesses.

To that end, the state has recently amended the forms companies use to register their Ohio business. It also hoped the amendments would reduce the number of errors business owners make when filling out their new business documentation.

Whether you’re a new business or one with a long affinity to Ohio, business insurance is vital in such a busy – but also uncertain – economic climate. Protecting your asset should be your number one priority if you’re in business in Ohio.
